Coolest Looks from Men’s London Fashion Week FW16

Wondering what I did this weekend? I watched runway show videos from the London Fashion Week on FTV. Seeing that it’s the first city celebrating Fashion Week, it was fun to see what the trends are coming for Fall Winter 16. I have to admit, one of my favorite parts of fashion week is the crazy runway looks. They make us wonder, “Is someone going to wear this, or is it fashion art and part of the theatrics of the runway show?” Take a look at some of my favorite stand-out pieces for Fall-Winter 2016 showcased during London Fashion Week.

Alexander McQueen FW16 London Fashion Week

Take for example this runway look by Alexander McQueen. Yes, the silver and black patterned dinner jacket will make him stand out in any crowd, but it’s the giant safety pin in his cheek that made them look twice!

Nasir Mazhar FW16 London Fashion Week

Looks like designer Nasir Mazhar was inspired by Darth Vader for the Fall Winter 2016 collection. I have to admit, it’s an improved look over the Star Wars wardrobe.

Always a big fan of TOPSHOP Design, and this men’s runway look is something out of the ordinary. Here’s a floral detailed shirt and turmeric flared suit in crushed velvet, giving the collection an “Oscar Wilde skater-boy vibe”.

The Casley Hayford collection showcased some electric variations on a contemporary uniform, with a heavy nod to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Love this Mathew Miller Caravaggio’s David With the Head of Goliath on a frayed trench.

Sibling FW16 London Fashion WeekSibling FW16 London Fashion WeekPhoto: Yannis Vlamos, Indigitalimages

The theme for Sibling FW16 collection was boxing, featuring hand-knit robes that are far from ordinary. Designer Sid Bryan insisted that the robes were not show clothes: “They’ve already got the customers lined up. We only make what we know we are going to sell, because otherwise what’s the point?”

J.W. Anderson London FW16 Fashion WeekJW Anderson FW16 London Fashion WeekPhoto: Marcus Tondo, Indigitalimages

I’m still trying to figure out what’s on this grey suit by J.W. Anderson. My daughter thinks it a minion. Any idea?

Katie Eary FW16 London Fashion WeekKatie Eary FW16 London Fashion WeekPhoto: Kim Weston Arnold, Indigitalimages.com

The Katie Eary collection is said to have a vibe of Bowie with a Ziggy graphic pattern. The pants have a metallic leather and lace-up front and the silk caftan featured a graphic pattern with koi carp.

Not really sure if men are ready to run around town wearing a “colorblind” shirt with matching tan pants and loafers – but you never know.

Astrid Anderson FW16 London Fashion WeekAstrid Anderson FW16 London Fashion WeekPhoto: Kim Weston Arnold, Indigitalimages

This look by Astrid Anderson reminds me of a Minion outfit with the blue overalls and matching shirt. Definitely would be a great look at the next movie!

Burberry Mens FW16 London Fashion WeekBurberry Mens FW16 London Fashion WeekPhoto: Marcus Tondo, Indigitalimages

I had to add this key piece from the Burberry FW16 Collection – a Burberry variation on the generic late 70s nylon track top seen here with sparkling red sequin applications.

On to Milan Fashion Week…
