Fashion editors around the globe are buzzing about their favorite red carpet looks at the 78th annual Oscar Awards. This year’s red carpet had a new twist brought on by mother nature – rain and lots of it! Hollywood celebrities were greeted with ushers carrying umbrellas helping them avoid puddles while dressed in their finest designer outfits.
I’m loving the gorgeous light-colored evening wear trending at the Oscars this year. Some of my favorite women’s outfits are Jennifer Lopez wearing a gorgeous Eli Saab gown, Felicity Jones wearing a royal Alexander McQueen gown, and Kiera Kngithley in an original Valentino gown perfectly hiding her baby bump next to Lady Gaga in a classic white dress with red gloves. And who can resist a man in a white tuxedo? Love the photo of Grand Budapest Hotel stars Jeff Goldblum and Adrien Brody in Matching Tuxedos.
White Suits by Dsquared2 + Dolce & Gabbana
After looking at this year’s red carpet photos I couldn’t resist creating these mini me photos of boys wearing similar formal wear worn at the Oscars. Take for example this cute little guy wearing his Dolce & Gabbana boys white suit, similar to the one David Burtka is wearing on the red carpet with Neil Patrick Harris (before he striped down to his undies).
I’ve always loved this DSquared2 boys white tuxedo jacket which is a perfect mini-me of the tuxedo worn by my favorite actor Adrien Brody.
Jared Leto had quite the Marry Poppins look in his lilac suit, white shoes, and huge black umbrella. Love this mini-me look – little short suit by Dolce & Gabbana worn with white shoes.
Couture Dresses by Mischka Aoki
It was pretty impossible to find perfect matching mini-me looks for my favorite women’s gowns. To me, the perfect red carpet couture dress collection for girls is the Australian brand Mischka Aoki designed by Winnie Aoki.
This Queen of Rock Dress from Mischka Aoki’s FW14 Collection is perfect for the red carpet and is one of Winnie’s favorite.
I watched the runway show at the Petite Parade New York Kids Fashion Week. You can watch the Mischka Aoki fashion show that I filmed in New York and read my interview with Winnie Aoki.
Love these Mischka Aoki dresses in white, perfect for a special event this Spring and Summer.
Look at the detailing on these dresses, wouldn’t they look great on the red carpet at next year’s Oscar Awards?!
