Ferd designer clothing boys girls USA Ferd was created by mom & designer Jennifer Connaughton who designed women's clothing for over 10 years. Upon having her son and always having the urge to start a business, she decided to start a line of clothing for boys. Fall 2007 was Ferd's first collection, which can be found in wonderful stores throughout the country and abroad. In Fall of 2008 Jennifer added a girls' line which uses the same fabrics as the boys' but with different silhouettes. Both the boys' and girls' line are available from 6 months to 6 years.

Ferd is a modern take on the classic & simple. Their philosophy and point of view is to create simple clothing, paying close attention to the details and the quality of our garments. Ferd uses only high quality fabrics, generally of natural fibers like cottons & wools, mostly out of Europe. Their key ingredient is to mix patterns and textures to create beautiful clothes that have a distinctive look.

At Bubble New York Ferd exhibited their Spring 2009 collection which uses a clean palette of navy, white, green, cream and brown. The collection has lots of visual interest by combining textures, like prints and stripes to create a very simple but unique look. They use high quality prints out of London and knits out of Italy, mostly 100% cotton, with lots of interesting details. All garments for Spring are produced in New York.

Elephantito Designer Children's Clothes Hey Kiddo! celebrates childhood by making bright, happy t-shirts for bright, happy kids. They make clothing that parents and kids can be happy with.

At Hey-Kiddo! they believe that every child is a true individual. "So why give them the same-old, same-old? Or turn them into fashion victims? You know, kids don't know a D&G from a D-O-G. But we don't need a focus group to tell us what kids like, do we? Yep, this isn't rocket science, even though we do make a rocket shirt!"

Hey-Kiddo strives to:
• Make it comfortable with soft, high-quality cotton.
• Make it classic with vintage images from childhood.
• Make it high-quality so that it lasts.
• Make it cool because we've all had bad "outfits" imposed on us - and the snapshots to prove it.
• Make it with environmentally-friendly inks, dyes and organic cotton, because we all want to give our kids good clothes and a healthy planet.

For Suna Ruhren, the fair-skinned owner and designer of Hummingbaby, gauze fabric is the very definition of her childhood spent on the Japanese peninsula of Chiba - irritated sunburned skin soothed by gauze dresses. So it only made sense that her children's clothing boutique spotlights the fabric renowned for its extraordinary softness against delicate skin.

Daydream, her Spring 2009 line for Hummingbaby launched at Bubble New York, features 100% fine double gauze fabrics, clean prints, and well-placed details - with ten styles, and 3 or more pastel colorways. Playing off the fantasy-like quality of the gauze's subtle shimmer, the repeating prints-tiny dolphins trailed by bubbles, hand drawn kittens, freesia in the breeze, to name a few-are complemented by streamlined embellishments.

"I try to find the prints that remind me of my imaginary world when I was little girl. Prints that evoke nostalgia with a touch of melancholy. They are not too cute but they make my heart ache. Sort of like a sentimental yearning for the happy lost time," Ruhren explains of her fabric selection process.

Igloo Island Tween Girl Clothing A mother, Sandra, and her two pre-teen daughters, Brittany and Cailin, created Igloo Island - clothing designed for children by children. Mom Sandra comes with nearly twenty years experience in the garment industry. Daughters Brittany and Cailin come with a wealth of creative ideas, plus a sizeable circle of friends who serve as a test market for every design.

Igloo Island is uniquely aligned to the tastes and interests of children because so much of the company revolves around the input of the daughters and their friends. They came up with the name of the company, as well as their tagline: A Hot Place for Cool Kids. Brittany and her friends created the company's signature characters, Sour Puss and Friends. Both girls are very much involved in the design and testing of all of products.

Sandra started the company after hearing her daughters complain that there was not any clothing that was stylish and fun for them. She put to use her extensive experience in the garment industry to found a company that offered such clothing for girls XS-XL (4-6x, 7-14). She has worked closely with leading factories to source materials that are high-quality, comfortable, fun, and even environmentally friendly, such as bamboo.

redthreaddesign Red Thread Design, a small Toronto clothing studio, made its debut at Bubble New York, following three successful years in the Canadian market. The line of children's clothing is best known for its inventive use of color and prints, and simple, flexible dress designs.

The line's bestseller is the one-size "Caterpillar Dress," which transitions from a dress on a baby or toddler to a cute swing top on a preschooler. The dress fits most children from about 12 months to 4 years of age. The dress layers beautifully so it can be worn year-round. "So many children's clothes have such a narrow window of opportunity to be worn and enjoyed," says designer Devorah Miller. "This dress is the antithesis of that. It can be worn on its own or with jeans, shorts, leggings, year-round, shared by sisters and handed down." The Caterpillar Dress has developed a following in Toronto, where some customers collect the dresses as wardrobe staples.

Every fall, Red Thread releases a line of dresses with an Asian focus, a nod to Miller's background in East Asian textile history and her interest in Asian design. The name Red Thread comes from a Chinese proverb about red threads uniting loved ones across vast distances. Miller learned about the proverb during the adoption of one of her three daughters from China. "An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break."

Sweet Shoes Sweet Shoes was started by Mandi Dana-Panzer of Santa Cruz, CA, USA, a busy stay at home mother of three. While finding stylish clothing and shoes for her daughter was never a problem, it just wasn't as easy for her two younger boys.

So, she decided to design her own infant shoes and used the local surf/skate culture as her design inspiration. Her shoes are edgy and hip and her line offers enough styles to match the pickiest of little personalities. The soles are made with an extra layer of foam between two layers of leather; this provides extra shock-absorption while staying developmentally appropriate for infants growing feet.
