For the 2010-2011 winter season Jil & Sil is harking back a couple of centuries to the days of powdered wigs and frilly lace, when a wayward French queen lived an opulent life with intricate dresses and a vast collection of jewels. Jil & Sil has given this style a completely new and contemporary face - creative and spirited, fun and dreamy.

Jil & Sil’s designers opted to add new colors to the typical palette of natural tints: pirate black, blue nights, steel grey, off-white and indigo. For girls, French Queen Marie-Antoinette’s silhouette in a beautiful silver frame, pretty flowers and check patterns. For boys, coats of arms with black accents, to be worn with stout and strapping boots.

One thing that can definitely be said about Jil & Sil’s clothing is that it always stands out from the crowd. This year, yet again, the designers have succeeded in adding details that make each piece unique. For example extra layers over frocks that are raised with ribbons, just like Marie-Antoinette wore her dresses. Clasps with mother-of-pearl buttons and finished with lacework and frills.
