MINI A TURE

Danish brand MINI A TURE, launched in 2001 by sisters Federikke and Kathrine Hviid, goes all nostalgic in their S/S 09 collection and takes a trip back in time to Sweden, during the 18th Century. This era is every young boy’s fantasy – chasing old steam trains and yearning to play with the old engines, which have clearly been abandoned some time ago.The MINI A TURE children play barefoot in the forest by the lake. The girls are wearing simply cut, functional and embroidered dresses, which almost feel like a second skin. When they’ve finished playing, the children settle down for a picnic. The girls slip on their small, light jackets and fling off their ballerina shoes. Some of the boys who’ve been working in the fields are wearing casual shorts and loose trousers with light checked and striped shirts in light colors – and not forgetting their trademark ‘Sixpence’ hats – and the others are wearing their ‘Sunday Best’ trousers with a white, fine shirt and a rather smart tank top. The overall look is light, both in terms of colors and fabrics. Colors are toned-down but feature bright ‘twists’ of color. Checks and stripes are also featured in the collection, particularly for the boys.
