Wondering who was the Award-Winning New Kids Fashion Designers 2013?
2013 was an exciting year for new kids fashion designers, with a number of new brands being recognized at kids fashion industry events for their outstanding achievements. Here is a snapshot of three designers that won emerging New Kids Fashion Designers awards this year in Europe.
Rising Star Award – Wolf & Rita
At The Bubble London Trade Show that took place from June 16‐17th, Portugal’s Wolf & Rita won the “Bubble London’s Rising Star Award.” The award celebrates the best new brand launching its first wholesale collection for Spring / Summer 2014, inspired by Devendra Banhart singing his cover of Summertime.
Junior Magazine Best Emerging Talent – Miller London
Each year Junior Magazine presents awards “celebrating excellence in design & style for children’s fashion, lifestyle & interiors, travel, food, toys, and books.” For 2013 the Junior Magazine Design Award for Best Emerging Talent went to Miller London who offer baby, boys and girls clothes from 6 months – 14 years. All about everyday wearable luxury, Miller’s collections are designed to offer an effortless mix of chic, versatile basics and on-trend statement pieces. Launched in 2010. Miller London’s whose design style features inspiring colors palettes are teamed with pretty prints, super cute checks, and sweet stripes to give clean, classic silhouettes a contemporary feel.
Who is on next? – La Bottega di Giorgia
At Pitti Immagine Bimbo 76 that took place in Florence from January 17-19th, Giorgia Totaro, designer of La Bottega di Giorgia won the 3rd edition of “Who is on next?” Dedicated to discovering new talents in kids fashions, The Who is on next competition is sponsored and organized by Pitti Immagine in cooperation with Vogue Bambini and Altaroma.
Giorgia Totaro’s La Bottega di Giorgia brand was recognized for its “poetic simplicity and strength of the project, a highly personal look that respects children whilst offering them a new point of view, an interesting ability to bring back manual skills and craftsmanship to the wardrobe, the pleasure of tradition within a contemporary context”.
