The Boutique Angels Charity Organization is having their 3rd Quarter launch over on eBay right now through August 17. All proceeds from their auctions will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The Boutique Angels, founded in 2004, are a group of individual custom boutique designers who come together to launch for various children’s charities. To date, they have raised over $59, 000.
Normally, a charity is chosen by member’s of the group, however, this launch is special as they invited their supporters/bidders to choose the charitable organization for them. They chose JDRF. According to the JDRF website, they are “the leading founder and advocate of type 1 Juvenile diabetes worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes children suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump. Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.”
There are two members within the eBay boutique community whose children are afflicted with Juvenile Diabetes and they allowed the Boutique Angels to share a little about them. Mitchell, 10 is the son of Jodie, eBay ID:kjncm. He dreams of being a soldier someday, but right now that isn’t a reality for him as his diabetes is sure to keep him from doing so.
Jamie, almost 4, is the daughter of Adrienne, eBay ID: adreenie5. Her father also has diabetes and she, along with her “if I can do it, you can to” attitude serves as a reminder about how important it is to stay on top of the disease. Meet both of these little wonders by viewing the auctions on eBay by searching “Boutique Angels Charity”. Their auctions include handcrafted items such as children’s clothing, jewelry, accessories, art, etc…there is something for everyone!
