New York Fashion Week has come to a close and fashion writers seem to be envious about losing their front row seats to celebrity kids North West, Alia Wang, and my favorite fashion family the Beckhams.
I’ve read a number of articles questioning the appropriateness of toddlers in the front row of fashion week, noting North West’s temper tantrums during the Adidas and Alexander Wang Fashion Shows.
At her dad Kanye West’s Adidas show, 19-month-old North sat in the front row on her mom Kim’s lap next to Beyonce and Anna Wintour, editor of American Vogue. Dressed in her uber cool black outfit with green leggings, North like many toddlers, found it difficult to sit through the show. No surprise to me.
North West made yet another New York Fashion Week appearance at the Alexander Wang show sitting in front row with Kim, Kanye, and Nicki Minaj.
This time she had a buddy to sit next to 2-year-old Alia Wang, Alexander Wang’s niece who has become a pint-sized street style star.
North wore a custom mini-me studded black dress from the Alexander Wang FW15 collection. She cheered on Aunt Kendall who rocked the runway at her NYFW debut modeling Alexander Wang’s grunge-chic designs.
It will be interesting to see if in 15 years North West will follow in her Aunt Kendall’s footsteps, walking the runway at New York Fashion Week. We can be sure that fashion writers will remind North of her toddler tantrum at New York Fashion Week.
In the meantime, I look forward to seeing what North West and Alia Wang wear sitting in the front row to their next New York Fashion Week!
