Every few seasons, Dolce & Gabbana reaches back into Sicily’s ceramic workshops and creates a new colorway of the print that’s become the house’s most-loved signature — Majolica. Hand-painted tiles from Caltagirone are reimagined as brocade, poplin, chiffon, and sequins. The print is a cornerstone of the house’s Mediterranean DNA, often appearing as a hero print for Spring/Summer and Pre-Fall. The Dolce & Gabbana Majolica collection draws on bright Italian ceramics for inspiration and frequently reappears around late summer into fall in deeper, more seasonal palettes.
I’ve been covering this print for over a decade, enjoying the vibrant colors from blue, pink, yellow, purple, and — most recently — a sunlit orange. Here’s every colorway, starting with the newest, and the celebrities who wore each one best.
Dolce & Gabbana Majolica Orange — Maiolica Arancione (Pre-Fall 2026)
The Dolce & Gabbana Orange Majolica Collection is the newest —and so far the most vibrant — reinterpretation of the print: a sunlit orange that swaps Mediterranean blue for something closer to a Sicilian sunset. Jennifer Lopez was the first major celebrity sighting, wearing a crossed-neckline orange Majolica crop top and matching high-waisted pants on a stroll through Taormina during a break from Alta Moda events in July 2026. She accessorized with a white Marlene bag and cat-eye sunglasses for the town’s sun-bleached stone streets.

Dolce & Gabbana Maiolica Viola — Purple (FW25)
Before the Majolica Arancione Orange collection, Dolce & Gabbana reworked the print into an exclusive bougainvillea shade for its FW25 collection — chromatic contrasts and a ’60s-inspired mood run through flowing shirts, tops, and wide-leg trousers, paired with a matching edit of accessories. On her family trip to Tuscany in July 2025, Lady Kitty Spencer — Princess Diana’s niece and a longtime D&G ambassador — created the perfect mini-me moment twinning with her 2-year-old daughter, Athena, in matching purple Majolica poplin dresses. “Purple is Athena’s favourite colour at the moment,” Spencer captioned the trip, which included a stop at the Leaning Tower of Pisa and a photo op with a tiny purple Fiat 500.

Dolce & Gabbana has created the perfect purple Majolica mommy-and-me look – a bustier-bodice midi dress with platform wedges for mom, the same tile-print dress with a fuller skirt and flat sandals for the mini-me.
Dolce & Gabbana Majolica Yellow (Pre-Fall 2024)
The Majolica Yellow collection is a warmer, golden departure from the previous blues and pinks. Dolce & Gabbana hosted a surprise baby shower for Ashanti and Nelly at their New York boutique ahead of the couple welcoming their first child, and Ashanti wore a Women’s Yellow Majolica look from the Pre-Fall 2024 collection — set against yellow and white balloons that perfectly matched the sunny print.

The golden Majolica, styled mini-me — a belted shirt dress and headscarf for her, a puff-sleeve tiered dress and straw tote for the mini-me.
Dolce & Gabbana Majolica Rosa — Pink (2023)
The house’s most playful reinvention to date — the traditional blue-and-white was replaced by a two-tone fuchsia set against pure white. Dolce & Gabbana described this collection as capturing Sicilian sunlight “as though the pieces were surrounded by dazzling sunlight.” Madonna marked her 65th birthday in Portugal with twins Stella and Estere in matching pink crepe Majolica shift dresses.
The fuchsia Majolica in signature mini-me style — a fitted corset-bodice maxi for her, a smocked sundress and straw bag for the little one.
Dolce & Gabbana Majolica Mondello (2018)
Named for the beach town outside Palermo, the Majolica Mondello softened the brocade into an off-the-shoulder cotton poplin sundress with macramé lace trim — still blue and white, but airier and more resort-appropriate than the original. Georgina Rodríguez dressed Cristiano Ronaldo’s daughters Eva and Alana in matching Mondello sundresses for a family outing that summer.
A different Majolica moment worth including — this multi-color campaign shot is from the same 2018 collection, styled in an even more saturated palette than the classic Mondello blue and white.
Dolce & Gabbana Majolica Blue & White (2015–2023)
The original, and still the most recognizable — hand-painted tiles in classic Mediterranean cobalt. Madonna gave the blue-and-white its most recent star turn, matching twin daughters Estere and Stella in coordinating Majolica dresses for a Sicily birthday celebration, complete with a cobalt cowboy hat to match. The colorway goes all the way back to 2015, when Anna Dello Russo first wore the brocade at Milan Fashion Week and Zoë Saldana wore the same dress on InStyle’s July cover that year. It’s resurfaced again and again since — in 2023, Kylie Jenner posted Stormi Webster singing along on TikTok in a white-and-blue Majolica sundress, proof the original palette never really left.
The classic blue-and-white colorway that started it all, still going strong — a flowing chiffon halter gown for her, a twirl-ready tiered dress and bucket hat for the mini-me.

Which Majolica Colorway Is Your Favorite?
From the original blue-and-white brocade to this season’s sunlit orange, the print keeps finding new ways to feel both classic and current. Blue remains the most timeless, pink the most playful, yellow the warmest, purple the most unexpected, and orange — so far — the boldest. If history is any guide, we’ll see another colorway before next Pre-Fall.
