Playtime Introduces Playologie Kids B2B Website

A few weeks ago at the Playtime Paris kids trade show, organizers made a big announcement that will modernize the global wholesale kids’ fashion industry. In June, Playtime will be launching Playologie, an Online Marketplace & Virtual Showroom for Children’s & Maternity Universe.

While interviewing Playtime’s Organizer Sebastien de Hutten, I had a chance to learn first hand what Playologie is all about.

On Playologie, designers will be able to present their collections online to verified buyers from around the world. Buyers can order designer collections on the B2B Website & Virtual Showroom at Playtime, or after the trade show from the comfort of their home.

Playologie users will benefit from Playtime’s vast global network of buyers and designers who attend the Playtime Paris, Tokyo and New York show held twice a year.

“Playologie, the latest projects from the playtime team is something we’ve been thinking about for a while. It’s a B2B website. It’s a website. It’s a virtual showroom. It’s a commercial tool for brands, for buyers. It’s something that’s going to save people a lot of time, and discover collections from all over the world in just a few clicks. We’re launching it in June. And the way it’s going is to work to make it simple that brands that are going to be participating in Playologie will upload their images of the whole collection, put the prices for the whole world in different currencies, and will be available for registered buyers only. And verified buyers of course, because this is a B2B platform. And it will be together for all of their networks. It’s going to also be supported by an iPhone app, which is going to be online and offline to help them take orders. And also connect all of their commercial networks to place orders. Everyone working on the same system.

We’ve noticed that with a show like Playtime lot’s of people sometimes can’t come to the show. Sometimes are just overwhelmed by the number of collections that they can see here. And the time they have is mostly to see the collection, and not place the orders very often. So a show like Playtime will always be essential because you need to see and feel the collections. You need to meet people. However, with Playologie it gives them the possibility to look at the collections, feel them, talk about them, and place the orders when they are quietly back at home.

We’re bringing in a tool that’s going to save them a lot of time. Save everyone a lot of time. You’re going to upload your collections and from that time on, your whole marketing season will be ready. Ready for you. All of your commercial networks. All of your agents, distributors. For everyone. I really think this is a unique tool that’s going to be launched in June. Something that’s going to help everybody in the market work in a different way. We’re very ambitious with this project, but we have the experience for it.

Playologie is launched by Playtime, but not necessarily linked to it. This is a completely independent website, where brands that are not necessarily exhibiting at Playtime can be on Playologie, and buyers who don’t necessarily visit Playtime can be on Playologie as well. It’s free for all buyers, but they have to be verified, and we have to verify their activity. There’s a fee for brands. It’s an annual fee for them. And it allows them afterward to use the system entirely freely.”
