About 1 + IN THE FAMILY Designer – Gemma Mases

1 + IN THE FAMILY was created by Gemma Mases, mother of three children and an experienced freelance designer, specializing in children’s fashion. Gemma’s designs are inspired by the birth of her niece’s baby, Bruna which coincided with the 1 + IN THE FAMILY launch.

For the collection, little baby Bruna remains a main source of inspiration. Her first grimaces, her smile, her first steps… always surrounded by a familiar, warm and clean winter atmosphere. A perfect atmosphere which is reflected in a palette of soft and dusty colors: old rose, winter blue sky, deep taupe…all accordingly matching with a touch of dark grey.

1 + In The Family Collection Highlights

1 + IN THE FAMILY collection is based on practical, simple, comfortable shapes. You’ll find an all-fleece wardrobe for newborns up to age 24 months, with a touch of retro home wear. The collection includes easy-wear garments like fancy dresses, baby joggers, bloomers, overalls, and jumpsuits all worked with a soft and extraordinary quality fleece and bi-elastic jersey, the main fabrics used in the collection, which add an extra comfortable look to the winter collection.

I love the modern and minimalistic style of 1 + IN THE FAMILY. The color palette is subdued with lots of gorgeous natural colors and a bit of highlights in blue, pink, and red. Another cute touch is the use of baby bib bandanas that are very uber-chic. These baby clothes made in Barcelona look so comfy and cool…a definite must for your little one’s wardrobe!
