Corby Tindersticks, based in London, UK, is a brand for people with a sense of humor and an appreciation of design. Created by Yorkshire born designer Carly Gledhill, Corby Tindersticks is an illustration-led label for kids focusing on clothing, toys, and posters for design-conscious parents that understand the importance of good design for kids. The Corby Tindersticks culture manifests itself as a range of quirky, boutique-style products that are both ethically and environmentally conscious.
You’ll find quirky characters with their own unique backstories on every gift, piece of clothing and soft toy, often inspired by vintage teapots, Enid Blyton books, and Northern soap operas.
Manufactured in the UK, all clothing, toys, and prints are handmade in their East London Studio.Fabrics and print inks are locally sourced and eco-friendly where possible.
At Corby Tindersticks we aim to create a fun design and illustration for kids and grown-ups. Driven by the need for a creative outlet, we lovingly design products for a refreshing point of difference to the high street. Oh and we try to look after the environment and source ethical U.K made garments too!
The new range represents Corby Tinderstick’s largest range to date and is inspired by rubbish holidays to Blackpool and the even more rubbish British weather. The range is built up of 100% cotton jersey clothing, tactile felt prints and super squishy toys. All the clothing is ethically sourced, hand printed with eco-friendly inks in Wales. Further appliquéd and sewn detail is added by hand at Tindersticks HQ in Birmingham. Each character has its own personality and back-story (at least in Carly’s head) and this comes through in the handmade uniqueness of every item.
