Fournier designs and produces a luxurious, unique line of handcrafted, eco-friendly clothing and accessories and toys made of the finest baby alpaca wool, organic cotton, and Pima cotton.
“Fournier creates socially conscious and environmentally friendly line of children’s clothing, accessories & toys. Handmade in Bolivia. Changing lives stitch by stitch.”
The Fournier story all began when Anabel Fournier while living in Bolivia founded the company as a poverty alleviation project, after researching rural women’s survival strategies in the face of extreme poverty.
The goal of Anabel’s project was to help the community make long-lasting improvements in their own standards of living. Discovering the wonderful natural materials and local craftsmanship, Anabel laid the groundwork for the Fournier design company in Bolivia. For Since then, Fournier has been training Bolivian artisans in knitting, crocheting, embroidery and sewing.
Bolivian Artisans Handcraft Fournier Designs
Embracing the care for social development and conservation of the environment Fournier kids clothes is a highly proactive enterprise. These Bolivian artisans handcraft Fournier’s designs following a strict quality control to manufacture an eco-friendly collection of clothing, accessories, and toys.
Fournier’s Bolivian enterprise employs mostly women who formerly did not have the possibility of contributing income to the household. A significant percentage of sales go to provide medical services, pre and post-natal attention to knitters, and education for their children.
Fournier is the perfect choice for baby and holiday gifts with its unique style and hand-crafted look. Not only do they make fun buddies for kids to play with, they also add decor to your little one’s room. You’ll find a new fresh collection each season designed by Anabel Fournier from her studio in Washington DC and then hand-knit by Bolivian artisans who use natural fibers including baby alpaca wool, organic cotton, and Pima cotton.
