La Loi leggings, launched in October 2012, debuted as an exclusive capsule collection of digitally printed unisex leggings created by renowned Art Director, Kate Law.
Kate has a strong background in editorial design with a 13-year relationship with i-D dominating her career as Art Director. Recently she has worked for British Vogue and Elle and directed Liberty publications and online campaigns.
Kate’s experience has given her access to a pool of resources to draw upon. Each subsequent collection will incorporate a collaborative piece within its theme. Illustrators, photographers, and typographers are amongst future contributors.
La Loi is a desirable, fun, wearable, kids collection that is affordable. As a mother with a strong fashion and design background, Kate recognized a gap in the market.
La Loi Legging Collection
My boys used to attend a circus school at weekends and I would send them in crazy colored and garish patterned leggings – normally reserved for girls – when they were young enough not to argue! In winter they would wear them under ripped jeans or under football shorts and in summer, under shorts or with a pair of wellies on rainy days. But I was frustrated that colors and patterns were predominantly girly. I wanted an accessible and universal unisex brand but with an edge that didn’t patronize children’s taste which I have tried to achieve in the first collection.” – La Loi Designer, Kate Law
For Fall Winter La Loi continues to bring fun, modern designs including skulls hand-drawn by a renowned fine artist; Robert Clarke in two colorways (green and red) which sit alongside blood splatters which are limited edition focused on Halloween, smoke, and fireworks (aimed at the holiday season).
You’ll also find a capsule collection referencing a ‘Rock of Ages’ theme: leopard, ink splats, artists palette and stormy windows.
La Loi is proudly designed, printed and manufactured in the UK.
