The Pumpkin Patch story began with back in 1990 with Sally Synott’s vision – to provide affordable, quality childrenswear with a distinctive fashion edge. The story began with a simple mail-order catalog that soon became a reality in 1990 with the first Pumpkin Patch store in Aukland, New Zealand.
Sally had past experience in the childrenswear market as a buyer, searching near and far to find the very best kids’ clothes. With an eye for both fashion and function, Sally found some good clothes, but something told Sally that little on the market was right for New Zealand families.
Later, in the mid-90s, while traveling through Australia, Maurice and Chrissy recognized there was an opportunity in Australian kids’ apparel. And the expansion that rolled out from this time has been the business model that has continued the growth of the Patch around the world.
Pumpkin Patch has expanded beyond New Zealand and Australia and can be found in the US and UK with retail stores, a mail order catalog and online store.
Pumpkin Patch has grown quickly since its beginnings in the 1990s and today employs over 2,000 people, with more than 190 stores and wholesale operations in 24 markets globally.
This sort of growth doesn’t happen overnight, and it certainly doesn’t happen unless you’ve got something unique to offer. What sets us apart is that our clothing meets the needs of young families at every stage in their lives. It’s something we’re really good at, probably because we’re parents ourselves. We’re passionate about bringing our loyal customers the best kidswear collections, season after season.
Enjoy the Pumpkin Patch layette collection for newborns, kids collections for girls & boys, and Urban Angel Girls collection for ages 8 to 16 years old.
Unfortunately, since this article was published Pumpkin Patch has closed its design house.
