Rayil is an upscale children’s clothing line that will take you on a journey of India’s fabrics – ancient and modern, from river valleys to desert communities and from the Himalayas to the shores of Goa.
It all started while owner Aruna Hatti was on a trip down memory lane in her mother’s sari closet. The natural fibers and artisanal beauty of these fabrics made her want to use them to make clothes for her children.
Each season, Rayil embarks on a trip through India’s rich history with select fabrics from the 300-plus varieties of cotton and silk the country has to offer.
The line of richly tailored dresses, skirts, tops, pants and tunics for boys and girls highlights the unique craftsmanship of each region.
Rayil debuts with Benarasi Silk from the Benaras region in North India, Chanderi Silk from the Chanderi region in Central India and cotton Khadi – a fabric popularized by Gandhi during the Indian Independence Movement.
