SHOKAY, which means yak down in Tibetan, focuses on developing luxury products made from yak down. Shokay yak down is made from the mountainous Himalayan regions of Western China.
This yak down creates a uniquely soft and beautiful fabric. All fibers are hand-combed from the yaks that dwell in these Himalayan regions, that continues to serve as a life source for the Tibetan herders.
Fibers are sourced directly from Tibetan communities in the Qinghai region in order to ensure the highest quality, traceability, and social impact.
Our vision is ambitious – to revolutionize the yak yarn industry by thoughtfully engaging in each step of the manufacturing process. We care how the fibers are combed from the yak, how the fibers are sorted & cleaned, how they are spun into yarns, and how they are woven or knitted into finished products. Style with a touch of humanity…considered every thread of the way.
