Tulip & Nettle‘s Summer 2013 collection, pretty but not precocious and delicate but demure, is inspired by the famous Botticelli Primavera masterpiece and prima Ballerina’s grace and discipline. Designed by Amynta Warde-Aldam, British brand Tulip and Nettle is inspired by much-loved vintage pieces reinterpreted for today.
We seek to create garments with an enduring value, clothes to cherish and enjoy. The prized hand me downs of tomorrow. All Tulip & Nettle clothes are made in the North of England reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring that our clothes are responsibly made by properly paid adults working in decent conditions. – Amynta Warde-Aldam, Tulip & Nettle.
Perfect for running about a green lawn on a sunny day, for the Summer collection you’ll find light, swishy, fluttery fabrics from pretty silks and chiffons to voiles all lined in soft cotton. With wedding season in full swing Tulip & Nettles silk and chiffon ranges are especially popular for flower girls and bridesmaids.
The collection features the narrowest most beautiful color tipped ribbons and tiny touches of silver braid. Another element of subtle detail is a touch of elasticity to a pretty sleeve or a smocked bodice.
The Renaissance Princess can strike an attitude in an effortless natural looking Primavera sundress – a glorious mix of florals or a silver trimmed chiffon. An ethereal chiffon Bon Bon Skirt worn with a matching top, a romantic Bronte Dress, or an artless drapey Botticelli Dress complete the look.
The tiny Ballerina wears restrained silks. Beautiful clean lines with a glorious simplicity. The Little Swan Dress with its graceful proportions, the Ballerina to dance in with a swirly skirt or the classic perfection of the Fairy Dress. These dresses work brilliantly for bridesmaids, first communions or special celebrations.
For Summer 2013 Tulip & Nettle boys can choose between light as air cotton voile shirts, navy and white striped t-shirt, denim breeches, silk poet shirt and soft lightweight sweaters.
