Twin Set Girl Fall Winter 2014 / 15

Twin-Set Girl by Simona Barbieri launched the Fall Winter 2014 / 15 collection on the runway at Pitti Bimbo in Florence, Italy’s Kids Fashion Weeks. Simona Barbieri really knows how to put on a show with a dramatic red backdrop and lots of show lights. A big moment was when one of the little girl models entered on a swing wearing a stylish black dress.

“The rockabilly feel of the 1950s can be seen in a contrast effect that is created by combining lace and animal print, sequins and graphic patterns, lurex and garment-dyed eco-leather pieces, which all come together to form a collection featuring pop colors and fierce style.”

Twin-Set, founded in 1987 by Simona Barbieri and Tiziano Sgarbi, designs collections for “a woman who is at the same time sophisticated and with a strong character. A woman who plays with her femininity by combining romantic applications such as sequins, tulle, and embroidery, with striking prints and bolder materials including jeans, leather, studs and technical fabrics.”

A mini-me of the women’s collection, TWIN-SET Girl’s Fall Winter 2014 collection by Simona Barbieri takes inspiration from high-spirited style periods like the 1950s and reinterprets these with laid-back looks for young girls. One of my favorite looks in the collection is this white tulle dress in the petticoats, over-sized snow boots, and fur shrugs.

Another favorite is this sophisticated layered look, complete with wash jeans, ivory lace shirt and scarf, grey shirt, fashionable side bag, and those great over-sized snow boots.

Black and White seem to be trending for FW14. I love this B&W look by Twin-Set Girls complete with a white feather-like dress, black cardigan sweater with polka dots and a sequin collar, black socks with a feather accent. Those vintage mary jane polka dot shoes with a black ribbon are to die for!
