The 77th edition of FIMI, the International Children’s and Young People’s Fashion Fair, took place last weekend from June 21-23 2013, in Valencia, Spain. 200 brands exhibited their spring-summer 2014 collections to buyers from over 40 countries. Spanish children’s fashion designers this year have exported 29% of production, twice the percentage of last year.
A highlight at FIMI was the Spring-Summer 2014 fashion show with 12 leading Spanish brands: Barcarola, Bimbalina, Bóboli, Dolores Cortés, Focus, Jo&Jo, La Quinta, Larrana, Lea-Lelo by Susana Mazzarino, Lourdes, Oca Loca, and Rubio Kids.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada – “Happy Little Girls” Exhibition
In a class of her own, Spain’s flagship, creative designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada showed off her fashion work of art at the “Happy Little Girls” exhibit by The Institute of Modern Art. I absolutely love her designs and her bright use of colors for kids and women fashion!
Magical Day, Madrid Ceremony Fashion Show at FIMI
Luxury dress collections specializing in communion and ceremony were also featured on the FIMI catwalk. Bringing back the successful fashion show MAGICAL DAY in Madrid (see video above), brands on the catwalk included: Barcarolle, Valkids, Capra, Luxe and Rosa Clara carmy, Conguitos, Creaciones Charo, De Los Angeles, Elena Rubio, Hortensia Maeso, Kiriki, Larrana, Magara, Lulu Magnífica, OlaCaracola, Pilar del Toro, Kids Rubio and Varona.
New Designers Exhibit Talent at FIMI
FIMI dedicated a special space at the trade show called “Little Knots” to promote and celebrate emerging talent. Now in its fourth edition, different design schools, national and international, exhibit talents of fashion and design students.
