A big congratulation goes to Giorgia Totaro, designer of La Bottega di Giorgia for winning the 3rd edition of Who is on next? at Pitti Immagine Bimbo 76 (Florence, 17-19 January 2013). The Who is on next competition is dedicated to discovering new talents in kids fashions and is sponsored and organized by Pitti Immagine in cooperation with Vogue Bambini and Altaroma.
6 finalists of the Who in on next competition included: 0Bon chic, Biancalatte, La Bottega di Giorgia, Uno per tutti, Frugoo and So Sweet!
Members of the jury included: Simonetta Gianfelici (fashion consultant), Sibilla della Gherardesca (Pitti Immagine), Giuliana Parabiago (Vogue Bambini), Lucia Rizzi (Tata Lucia), Annalisa Crea (Crea), Diamante D’Alessio (StylePiccoli), Giovanna Miletti (Il Gufo), Elena Pyatibratova (Vogue Russia), Laura Salsi (Elle) and Uwe Schroeder (Luna Germany).
Giorgia Totaro was chosen for her collection La Bottega di Giorgia’s “poetic simplicity and strength of the project, a highly personal look that respects children whilst offering them a new point of view, an interesting ability to bring back manual skills and craftsmanship to the wardrobe, the pleasure of tradition within a contemporary context”.
So Sweet! brand hats received special mention “for having the courage to rediscover an often forgotten accessory, for the creativity, irony, and reliability of the realization, a return to a tradition of the past proposed in an unusual way: a very unexpected hat”.
Seven criteria were used to judge the collections: project presentation, personality and character, creativity and uniqueness, research and experimentation, contemporaneity, product quality and tangibility in terms of marketing and sales.
