On August 5th at ENK Children’s Club, I had the pleasure of interviewing Elizabeth Hoye from the newly launched tween brand, William + Leora based in Washington state, USA.
Elizabeth Hoye and Kat Swick founded William + Leora based on their love for fashion and vengeance for social injustice. Representing a fashion-forward yet modest approach to tween clothing, every William + Leora garment is – “Playful, yet powerful. Protected, yet free” – designed to inspire a childlike wonder and portray a grown-up sophistication.
William + Leora’s mission is “protect innocence, inspire greatness” and 25% of profits given to support the fight against child trafficking.
Interview with Elizabeth Hoye from William + Leora
“We are William and Leora, and we’re a new line here. We’re made in the US, manufactured out of Washington. We are a cost-based business. We give 25% of our profits towards fighting against child trafficking.
We have here our new Spring line, which consists of a lot of fun colors. This polka-dot here has been very popular. And we’re really bringing back the pendulum for the tweens, with the little hearts on the back.

Our mission statement is to protect innocence, inspire greatness. So we want a dress tweens modestly but the be fashion-forward. So they have something fun and funky to wear but they also can feel like they can express themselves in the way that they dress.

We’re sizes 7-14. Here’s a high-low skirt in grey that’s been really fun for people. On our pants and our shorts, we have this fun little volume builder, so it’s really flattering and cute. You can wear them with something tucked in or wear a shirt over it.”
