Dolce & Gabbana Kids
Dolce & Gabbana was created by the design duo Domenico Dolce from Sicily and Stefano from Milan who joined forces for their first collection in October 1985. Since then the Dolce & Gabbana brand has become a worldwide success and in 2001 they launched the Dolce & Gabbana Kids line for children. One of my favorite things about Dolce & Gabbana Junior is that many of their pieces for Girls and Boys are an exact copy of the Women’s and Men’s collections featured on the runway at the Milan Fashion Week. You can’t get much closer than that to a perfect Mini-Me collection.
For Fall Winter 2015 Dolce & Gabbana’s collection is a celebration of Family or “Familia” in Italian. In both men’s and women’s runway shows in Milan, the symbolism of Family was evident from appliqués of “Amore,” “Famiglia,” “Love Forever” in the Men’s collection to children and babies participating in the women’s runway show. Here are a few of my favorite stand out pieces in the boys and girls Dolce & Gabbana Junior collection.
Love this gorgeous boys wool knit bomber jacket by Dolce & Gabbana taken directly from Menswear Collection featured on the runway in Milan as part of the Fall-Winter Family Collection. The perfect Daddy and Me look, this stylish take-off of a varsity jacket is designed with a black and white floral jacquard weave and an embroidered family applique on the front with the designer’s logo initials.
Another favorite is this little Dolce & Gabbana model wearing his two-tone grey warm wool mix coat with its double-breasted button fastening on the front, green down-padded puffer style inserts on the back, and a wool mix lining.
Where is the love? This burgundy red Amore sweatshirt is made from a cotton jersey with a very soft fleece inside feel. Inspired by the Men’s Fall-Winter Collection launched during Fashion Week in Milan.
Here’s a great look for Dolce & Gabbana boys – a royal style also inspired by the men’s runway collection in Milan. This boy’s printed Knight top in green has an illustrated style knight in armor print on the front in red and gold.
For girls, I love this adorable Ivory Brocade Dress featuring cute child-like drawings that look like they have been created with children’s felt tip markers. Definitely a standout piece for a girl’s Fall Winer wardrobe, this gorgeous look is a direct Mini Me look based on the Dolce & Gabbana Women’s Fall Winter Runway Show in Milan called the Mamma collection.
Another favorite for D&G girls is this gorgeous Black Rose Sleeveless Dress made in a shift style in a thick feel wool crepe. A perfect Mini Me Look inspired by the Women’s Mamma & Me Runway Show, this luxurious dress features a large red rose appliquéd on the front, which is a key symbol from the womenswear collection.
Love the Mediterranean majolica ceramics theme recurring season after season in the Dolce & Gabbana collections. These majolica ceramics represent the cultural melting pot that is the Mediterranean basin, have centuries-old craftsmanship.
And for little baby girls, I love this gorgeous off-white shift dress by Dolce & Gabbana, made from textured brocade. This classic shift dress style features the designer’s beautiful red rose print, taken from the womenswear collection.
